BOCOTE: Cordia gerascanthus

Bocote is harvested in the West Indies, and the tropical regions of Central and South America. The heartwood is characterized by a golden brown accented by black streaks. It is highly resistant to insects, and extremely dense. The wood glues and machines well. Popular uses include flooring, instruments, decorative and figured veneers, inlay work, joinery and turning.
